wannabe a project manager?
we’re currently looking for a project supervisor or project manager, depending on the person’s qualifications. must be expat, must have native english speaking abilities. must have excellent communication skills – since our client is in the business of e-commerce and the work involves understanding how to communicate/market to a customer. of course strong interpersonal skills are also a must, in order to manage a vietnamese team and work with expat managers and sometimes demanding (or in my case, confused) clients.
it is amazing, i tell you, AMAZING in caps, all the crap resumes and cover letters ive received since i posted this job on vietnamworks last friday. so far, ive received over 50 applications. about 25 are from vietnamese, even though the job title explicitly states “expat native english speakers only”. about another 10 are from non-native english speaking expats even though the job title says, well, you know. the final 10 are even worse, in that, they are from native english speakers but somehow the applicants missed the simple fact that “porition” is spelled incorrectly, that a cover letter is required, or that there are a million examples of how to format a resume correctly on this thing called the interwebs. sheesh! its enough to make me want to write back to all these beyatches, and ask wtf are you thinking?
there are about 5 or so who havent even moved here yet, and i dont blame them for trying, but come on folks. why on earth would i even interview you if you havent stepped foot in this country? or have an air ticket and say that you’re on your way?
so that leaves me with about 5 that are worthy of a second look. actually 3 which are quite good, the other 2 are what id call second tier.
setting up interviews tomorrow and hope to get me some help up in here!
